2017 Information Webinar for K-8 Mathematics Standards

This webinar focused on the implementation of the 2017 Revised NC K-8 Mathematics Standards to be implemented in the 2018-19 Academic School year. The K-12 Math Section of the NC DPI gave a brief overview of the standards adoption process and communicated the plan for the resources and professional development being developed in preparation for the 2018-19 Implementation of the K-8 mathematics standards. Information shared include a tentative timeline on the release of resource documents and professional development opportunities for the year prior to implementation. Additionally participants were given the opportunity to ask questions which were then used to create an FAQ document regarding the roll out and implementation of the standards. The K-12 math consultants also consulted with the testing consultant to address additional questions regarding assessments for the revised K-8 Math standards.

2016-17 NC Math 1, NC Math 2, and NC Math 3 - "Just in Time" Sessions The Just in Time virtual sessions support the implementation of the 2016 Revised Standards for NC Math 1, NC Math 2, and NC Math 3. All documents, presentations and videos can be located in the Google Folder to the right. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Ashe at lisa.ashe@dpi.nc.gov or Joseph Reaper at joseph.reaper@dpi.nc.gov.

Using the Math Resources for Instruction (Aug 31, 2016)

2014 Secondary Math Webinar:Where should classroom instruction focus across Secondary mathematics in preparation for the EOGs, EOCs and NC Final Exams?

During this webinar, we will study and compare the use of the mathematical standards for expressions, equations and functions through the Secondary mathematics sequence.

UNC Charlotte’s College of Education, in conjunction with the STEM Center and Southwest Education Alliance is proud to announce the release of Online Mathematics Modules. If you are a K-2, 3-5 or 6-8, 9-12 mathematics teacher, facilitator, coach or administrator in charge of mathematics professional development, earn CEU for participating in an online module that focuses on the mathematical practices and content of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Each module takes approximately 10 hours to finish, and can be completed either individually at your own pace or preferably with other teachers in a Professional Learning Community. We envision these modules being used by math coaches and facilitators at their schools with groups of teachers during professional development time. To register for the course, contact Michelle Stephan at michelle.stephan@uncc.edu
